Ode to a real entrepreneur

(or: Bonni, you are my Boo)

Its no secret. I really wish that I had more of a "go-getter" personality. I'm just so impressed by people that have an idea or a vision and who not only strive to give that vision life - they actually do. Instagram is full of people like that and everyday I find yet another small business or brand within its depths that really speak to me.

For example, Instagram directed me to Bonni & Bo and, honestly, if you haven't seen what she can do then you should check out her insta-feed, or even better; her webshop (www.bonniandbo.com). A year and a half ago, the woman behind this brand hadn't even used a real sewing machine and today she designs (and sews) amazing clothes for kids. Her entire business is local and handmade, down to the fantastic handprinted notes that come with her orders in the mail.

Willem had the pleasure of modelling some of her stuff for her website (pics below). The "Little peace"-collection is amazing but its surely not the first time he's wearing clothes that she has designed and sewed. The first thing I ever ordered was a beanie with the cutest little handmade pom-pom and I fell in love. Eight months later, I still love it and its still the kid's favorite by far.

I've just ordered another batch from her so her beautiful threads will be featured here again soon. And I hope to see her business grow even further - I just know that she'll go far.

Dressed in Bonni & Bo

The baggy leggings in camo print are true brilliance in the shape of pants. So stretchy and comfortable (and of course, so stylish). And the checkered loop-scarf is made in a thin fabric, perfect for spring. Willem has other loop-scarfs from this brand and they are the perfect length. He hates clothes that are tight around his neck but these protect from wind and cold without being constricting or too snug.

The t-shirt is a collaboration that Bonni & Bo made with another extremely talented insta-mama; @skoningkidsandmama (www.skoning.se). I love the print on the front - Peace starts with a smile - and the fold-up sleeves.

A Love letter to I Dig Denim...

Let's talk jeans for a minute

It doesn't matter how many pieces of clothing I buy. The most important items in the closet for both me and the kid are still the jeans (and the shoes). A great pair of jeans and the right pair of sneakers can get you far in terms of the perfect outfit.

And there really is no question about it.
I Dig Denim is by far my favorite denim brand, all categories. It doesn't matter if it's spring, summer, winter or fall; their collections are always so solid and they have styles that go with just about anything.

To the right Willem wears four different pair of jeans from IDD. Top left; Newark in blue. Top right; Newark, dark blue and distressed (from AW'15). Bottom left; Alabama in grey and bottom right; Arizona, black. All models are size 104 and he is 97cm tall in the first pic and 101 cm in the following three.

We have a deep love for this brand and their spring/
summer collection is gorgeous. Since the SS'15 collection drops in most stores this week or next I'm celebrating by showing you my favorites. (Bare in mind that I want every piece but that these are my top picks.)

My 7 must have's from this season:

1. The Denton shorts. An instant love connection for me since, from behind, they look like cut-off Newarks. I can see the kid spending all summer in these. A must-have if there ever was one.

2. Finally! The relaxed model Arizona in blue! I love the drop crotch and the loose fit and blue jeans are my weakness. So these are a must as well. I like to branch out into grey and black but you can never go wrong with the original pair of mid-blue jeans.

3. Summer-Newarks. No more words needed, really. These jeans, a white tee, bare feet and we're ready for summer.

4. A Trento shirt? Yes please. The perfect light blue wash that can work with all the jeans in the collection, blue, grey or black

5. And we need the Ozzy hood of course. Just because W will be the coolest kid on the block in it.

6. The Bill long sleeve is is just the missing piece in W's closet right now. With his Newark's and AF1's, a great outfit is a fact.

7. And then there's the item that my conscious says no to (because W already has too many jackets) but my heart screams "YES". The light grey Norton jacket is not as thick as the bomberjacket, Luke, from AW'14 so maybe that will be my loophole? Norton will be perfect for the chilly Summer nights in Sweden, right? Please say yes.

Conclusion:

I love I dig Denim and the brand will render me broke this upcoming season. For real.

We are here.

We, as in me and the kid. Here, as in the blog community.

"Why?" you ask.

Well, mostly because there are so many great independent or small businesses within the kids fashion genre. Brands upon brands upon brands that not enough people know about - that don't get half of the attention and credit they deserve - and I want to show them my appreciation in any way I can.

Partly it's because of my love for photography. It's more about enthusiasm than talent, I assure you, and on top of that I'd say that at least 80 percent of the photos are featuring the kid. But the self-centered part of me is just dying to post the pics in a public space.

The great thing is that both of these interests - kidsfashion and photography - go hand in hand with the most important thing in my life; my amazing kid.

Three years old, sweet as pie, funny and effing brilliant. And with no patience what so ever. There is nothing in this world better than him.

And that's that basically. Some of it will be in Swedish, most of it will be in English. Some of you will find it interesting and I'm sure that a few of you really won't.

But that's the beauty of internet.

We are here. If you want, you can be here too.
